The Chicago-based Pakistani-American cab driver charged with attempting to send money to Pakistan-based terrorist Ilyas Kashmiri was produced in court on Wednesday.
The judge ordered that he remain in jail pending his trial. Raja Lahrasib Khan, 56, has now retained the services of a lawyer who says he hopes to prove his client’s innocence.
The next hearing is on April 7 and the lawyer could make out a case for bail by then.
Khan is charged with attempting to provide material aid to terrorism by sending cash to Pakistan-based terrorist leader Ilyas Kashmiri.
